Mouries Snurrige pulsvanter! English version!

The winter has arrived and I needed some thin and delicious fingerless mittens to use while driving the car. My inspiration for this pattern is Epletreets Snurrige Sokker. I’ve made the mittens with yarn from The Loopy Ewes Solid Series, you can use either this yarn or similar types for US size 1,5 or European size 2,5 needles. The pattern is in size small. To make larger mittens, either use a larger needle or add 5 stitches when you cast on

Disclaimer: Since English isn’t my native language, I hope you can look through the fingers for any weird sentences and wording, just doing my best! Have tried to translate the pattern from Norwegian to English, feel free to mail me with corrections at linew@online.no

Ribbing
Cast on 55 (60) stitches on double-pointed needles, distribute 15 stitches on each of the four needles. Knit ribbing *knit 3, purl 2* on all needles. Take care not to twist when joining the ends, you’ll be knitting in the round the whole time. Make the ribbing as long as you wish, I made it 2 cm long

Pattern
Then for the fun part!
1st round: *Slip the first stitch over to the right needle without knitting it, knit the 2 next stitches. Pull the first slipped stitch over the 2 knitted stitches. Purl 2 stitches* Repeat this the whole round
2nd round: *Knit 1, make 1 by wrapping the yarn round the needle, knit 1, purl 2* Repeat for the whole round
3rd round: *Knit 3, purl 2* Repeat for the whole round
4th round: Same as round 3 *Knit 3, purl 2* Repeat for the whole round

Repeat these 4 rounds for 10 repeats or for wished length. Then knit the pattern over 30 stitches and stockinette stitches (SS) over the next 25 (30) stitches. Repeat the pattern for 2 repeats, pattern on 30 stitches and stockinetet over 25(30) stitches

Thumb

The thumb is placed on the stockinette side of the work and will be worked in stockinette

Right hand: Knit 2 stitches, place marker and increase 1 stitch after the marker. Knit 2 stitches more, increase 1 stitch and place marker. Knit out the round. Knit 2 rounds without increasing, pattern on 30 stitches and stockinette on 25(30) stitches. *Knit to the first marker, slip the marker over to the right needle, increase 1, knit to the next marker, increase 1 and slip the marker to the right needle. Knit 2 rounds without increasing*
Repeat instructions between *-* until you have 20 stitches between the 2 markers. Place these 20 stitches on some spare waste yarn

Left hand: Knit stockinette until you have 4 stitches left on the stockinette section. Place marker, increase 1, knit 2 stitches, increase 1 and place marker. Knit 2 rounds without increasing.*Knit to the first marker, slip the marker over to the right needle, increase 1, knit to the next marker, increase 1 and slip the marker to the right needle. Knit 2 rounds without increasing*
Repeat instructions between *-* until you have 20 stitches between the 2 markers. Place these 20 stitches on some spare waste yarn
Cast on 4 stitches on the back of the thumb opening and keep on knitting on the hand part with pattern on 30 stitches and stockinette on 25(30) stitches on the thumb side, until you reach the start of the index finger. Knit ribbing * knit 1, purl 1* 1 cm. Cast off loosely

Finishing thumb
Move the 20 stitches from the waste yarn to the needles. Pick up 4-6 stitches on the backside of the thumb, taking care to avoid holes in your work, and knit stockinette for approx. 10 rounds. Knit ribbing *knit 1, purl 1* for 1 cm and cast off loosely.

Repeat for mitten nr 2
